Steven and James’ 360k Anglo-Dutch CASCAID challenge
Steven de Vries, Head of Retail for LGIM, and James Crossley, Head of UK Retail at LGIM are joining forces to raise money for CASCAID and the NSPCC.
There are 360km between London and Amsterdam as the crow flies, our respective home cities. The plan is for each of us to run half the distance, 180km each, in the month of September!
James says, “I must declare that I am built for comfort, so I will take on the distance predominantly in 10km’s, with a few shorter runs in between. This means I will be running a fair distance almost every day during September to complete the milestone.”
Steven says, “with my low sense of gravity I will be taking on longer half marathons across the month to complete my mileage.”
The first run will see them both together in Amsterdam on the 1st of September with the last in London, ending at LGIM’s London HQ.
This is a great endurance challenge for a great cause, so please do give generously. We are looking to raise £10k in total between us.
Finally we will be posting information about our runs and people are welcome to join us to keep us motivated and to ensure our pace is good!
Many thanks,
Steven and James and all of us at LGIM
