Simon Lodge Climbs Mont Blanc

Mont Blanc

Today, Simon Lodge successfully climbed almost 5,000 metres to the top of Mont Blanc in support of Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity (GOSH). The expedition took 6 days and featured various acclimatisation ascents using crampons, ropes and ice axes. According to mountain guides, the effort required on summit day far exceeds that of running a marathon…. Nonetheless, Simon conquered the highest mountain in Europe at more than 15,000 feet above sea level, and raised a total of £8,025.00 for CASCAID in the process from sponsored family, friends and colleagues. An honourable achievement and one to be proud of!
